The Teacher

Brian Evans has been teaching drum kit in schools and Colleges around Wirral and the North West for over 10 years. He currently teaches drum kit for the local authority 'Music Service', Wirral School of Music, St Anselms College and (of course) for the Wirral Drum Studio. He has entered many pupils for drum kit exams over the years he has been teaching, both from the Wirral Drum Studio and from the other schools mentioned above.

Qualifications and Experience

Brian has a degree in music from Golsdsmiths College, University of London but is the first to admit that pieces of paper do not necessarily make a good drummer/musician. There is no experience like playing in bands and honing skills in as many various musical situations as possible such as Theatre, Percussion groups, etc. as well as in Rock, Jazz, Blues etc and Brian has played in all of these settings and more. Most recently he has become interested in latin percussion and conga playing. He leads the 'Wirral School of Samba' who play at events and festivals throughout the North West whom he writes and arranges percussion pieces for.
